Nikon F-Mount Adapter

The FT1 Mount Adapter enables the use of selected legacy F Mount NIKKOR lenses (designed for Nikon D-SLR/SLR cameras) on the Nikon 1 V1. By attaching the Mount Adapter to the Nikon 1 V1 and then connecting the F Mount NIKKOR lens to the adapter, users can achieve an angle of view that is 2.7 times that of the lens' focal length.

It is necessary to update the firmware of the Nikon 1 J1/V1 camera to at least version 1.10 in order to use the FT1. F mount lenses mounted on the FT1 will have a crop factor of 2.7x. This allows for an angle of view similar to that of a super telephoto lens when using a telephoto lens. For example, a 300mm lens will provide an equivalent angle of view to an 800mm lens.

When utilizing the FT1 with a compatible AF-S NIKKOR F-Mount lens, users can take advantage of the high-speed continuous shooting capabilities of the Nikon 1, with options for shooting at 10/30/60 fps. However, continuous shooting with AF-S lenses will lock focus after the first shot.

Exposure modes such as [P], [S], [A], and [M] can be used with CPU lenses. Vibration reduction (VR) functions are available when VR lenses are used, with the option to enable or adjust settings using switches on the lens. Lenses equipped with NORMAL/ACTIVE modes will support VR functions accordingly.

It is important to note that the Smart Photo Selector function is not compatible with the FT1. Additionally, AF/AE is only supported with AF-S lenses, enabling autofocus when using such lenses. The focus mode must be set to AF-S (Single AF) and the AF-area mode is fixed at Single-point with only the center focus point active.

For lenses without CPU, [A] and [M] exposure modes can be utilized. The aperture settings must be specified accordingly for non-CPU lenses. The FT1 is compatible with a wide range of existing F-mount NIKKOR lenses, offering versatility and functionality for Nikon 1 V1 users.
