Description of Product
SunTouch TapeMats are equipped with double-sided tape on both sides along with a 10 ft power lead attached. The open-weave mesh TapeMat from SunTouch can be easily installed in just one day, eliminating the need to wait overnight for mortar to cure before laying tile. With just four simple steps, you can enjoy warm floors. Unroll and attach the mat(s) to the subfloor using the provided double-sided tape, secure the floor sensor (included with all SunTouch thermostats), apply thin-set mortar, and install your flooring. The edges are lined with double-sided tape for quick and effortless installation directly onto the subfloor. Mortar bonds seamlessly through the mesh with the underlying materials, adding only 1/8" to the floor's thickness compared to standard tile installations. The mesh on the mat can be easily cut to accommodate turns and fit your space accordingly. If needed, the mesh can also be cut or removed entirely from a section of the mat on site while leaving the blue heating wire intact. However, the blue heating wire cannot be cut or shortened, but repair kits are available in case of any accidental cuts or knicks.
These TapeMats can be adjusted to suit curves, angles, and cut-outs effortlessly and can be trimmed and flipped to align with your layout (only along the orange mesh). Each kit includes a touchscreen programmable thermostat with features such as a 7-day programming schedule, dual voltage of 120/240 VAC, built-in GFCI for safety, and a built-in 15-amp relay that can control up to 150 sq. ft. (1800 watts) at 120 V or 300 sq. ft. (3600 watts) at 240 V. The thermostat also offers floor and air sensing modes, SmartStart Technology for automatic adjustments to the start time of the floor warming system, and an energy use monitor to track system operation hours. To ensure the system is in working order and properly installed, you can easily test the resistance of the heating elements before and after installing the floor over the mat using a Digital Multi Meter. Each cable comes with a UL tag on the power lead indicating a resistance (Ohm) range. By setting the Multi Meter to 200 Ohms (2k if the Ohm range exceeds 200) and testing the colored power lead wires, you can verify that nothing has been damaged and that the system is functioning properly.
Experience comfort and luxury with an electric floor heating system from SunTouch, manufactured by the award-winning Watts Radiant, a leader in the industry in North America. The mesh design allows for quick and easy one-step mortar installation, suitable for projects of any size. Remember to never cut the blue wire; instead, it can be pulled out and maneuvered around obstacles and tight spaces. The kit includes the mat, touchscreen programmable thermostat, floor sensor, and installation accessories for a hassle-free installation process.
