SunTouch TapeMats are equipped with double-sided tape on each side and a connected 10 ft power lead for easy installation. The open-weave mesh TapeMat from SunTouch can be installed in just one day without having to wait for mortar to cure overnight. Achieving warm floors is a simple four-step process: unroll and attach the mat(s) to the subfloor using the tape, secure the floor sensor (included with all SunTouch thermostats), apply thin-set mortar, and install the flooring. The double-sided tape edge allows for quick and secure installation directly onto the subfloor, with mortar easily bonding through the mesh.

The mesh on the mat can be cut to make turns and fit any space, with the option to remove a portion of the mat while leaving the heating wire intact. Repair kits are available in case the wire is accidentally cut or damaged. The mat is flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate curves, angles, and cut-outs, and can be trimmed and flipped to fit your layout. The touchscreen programmable thermostat included in the kit allows for convenient and customizable programming, with features like smart start technology and energy use monitoring.

Ensuring proper installation and system functionality is simple with SunTouch mats. Before and after installing the floor, test the resistance of the heating elements using a Digital Multi Meter. Each cable has a UL tag with a specified resistance range printed on it. Test the colored power lead wires and the ground wire to confirm that the system is undamaged and functioning correctly. If the reading falls within the resistance range and there is no resistance on the ground wire, the system is ready to go.
